Memories.
We all have them.
Some are faded like an old photograph covered in dust hidden within the recesses of a treasure chest.
Some are vividly clear despite being old or new.
Sometimes they just randomly pop up into your mind. Sometimes it's provoked from the memory through our cognition to reevaluate a failure or success we had in life. Sometimes it's triggered by a smell. Or maybe simply, you're thinking back on a pleasant memory to lift your spirits.
Who knows where you'll find yourself when you take a trip down memory lane.
Let's get started.
Herein, the good and bad resurface.

1. Dial-Up Internet
Remember when you had to 'dial into' the internet? That probably seems inconceivable to the latest generation who grew up with broadband and Wi-Fi. Remember that annoying sound while dialing in too? You knew you were on your way into the glorious world wide web after hearing that sound. I remember the struggle of waiting minutes for a single low quality picture to load too.
Now having instant, high speed access to information (literally anything) wherever you go is common-place. Technology sure has changed how we live.

2. The Yellow Footprints
Since 1915 every enlisted Marine started his or her journey after stepping on the yellow footprints. I and countless other brave individuals have either stepped on the ones at MCRD Parris Island or MCRD San Diego. The rest is history.
3. 2002 Van Wert Tornado
The day was November 10, 2002 and I remember it very well.
It was a Sunday and it started like your average day until the tornado sirens blared in the afternoon... The sirens perform their tests everyday so it's not uncommon to hear but this time they didn't stop. Tornado warnings were broadcasted on the TV and then lights out. The power cut out. The sky changed to a sickened shade of green and sheets of rain started to fall. From a basement at my parent's house the rumbling sound of a distant train could be heard. Little did I know that an F4 tornado was a few miles away carving a path of destruction. It took out the theater, drive-in and a few other places. There was four fatalities and nobody got hurt at the theater where a lot of people were that day.
The last time Van Wert was severely struck by a tornado was back in 1920 during the Palm Spring Outbreak.

4. Weekend Driving
What do you do on a weekend night when you're from a small town that has hardly anything to do? Where do you go when you're bored of chilling out at your house?
Well, why not go out driving around town for a few hours and hangout in the parking lots. This used to be a thing until economic hardships started getting in the way. People couldn't just go out wasting costly fuel and people moved on. I still sometimes go out driving late at night whenever I'm back in town but it's different. My favorite times are when I'm at the reservoir and it rains. Okay, you simply don't just go 'cruising' around downtown anymore. The police presence is too high.

5. Myspace
Did you at one time have a Myspace page? Do you still have it? I remember Myspace being popular when I was in high school.
My morning midday study was in a classroom that had computers at each work-station (desk). We'd log in and send messages to each other because we weren't supposed to talk. Myspace was a fresh design. Infinitely customizable pages and connectivity to others was luring. Over time though Myspace changed a lot and the interface became confusingly clunky. Facebook was also showing up on the scene at this same time. Facebook in my opinion was appealing because it was simple. It had a basic standard across the board for users. Facebook swept a bunch of people away from Myspace including myself. In 2010 I deleted my Myspace and have not gone back since.
Widely considered the pioneer of modern social media Myspace peaked around 2005 through 2008.
