The date is 20170727. Time is 10:17 PM EST.
Today has been a good day.
Somehow I'm still awake.
I feel like my body and mind are adapting to the daily stresses and becoming more efficient.
Overall workload has definitely increased.
It has increased by way of understaffing and undertaking multiple tasks at work.
More responsibility falls on my shoulders.
Deadlines MUST be met or else you keep putting today's responsibility off into tomorrow. The deadline must mean 'something more' and adhered to. This is important to meeting demands and successful time management. Or else other things fall through.
Time management isn't just dedicating an hour to read a book here or a half hour there. It's more to me, it's two factors: preparation and discipline.
First, you must have foresight into the future and be able to prepare accordingly. A game of calculation and movement. But that's not enough, you must follow it up with action and that's where the discipline aspect comes into play.
Time is a depreciating asset. We all have a finite amount of it. We can't add more time to our life. We can however do more in a fixed amount of time by being deliberate.
For example, take an amount of time and add tasks. Those tasks WILL take up time. Bar none. You add more, more, more and soon you have to start becoming more deliberate and efficient with your movements. So the critical planning and logistical aspects start coming into play.
Do you want more life in your life?
I know I'm trying to incorporate more life into my life. It's a struggle but trying and not giving up will get you to the breakthrough.
My advice.
Plan things more deliberately.
Set a small goal, hold true to your deadline and accomplish it. Over time it'll start a cascade effect building your confidence to take on bigger tasks.
I think we should strive to better our life.
We stretch for more, our capacities for feeling the joy of life grow. It's fused into our DNA and explorative nature. When we become stagnant boredom sets in pushing us to become creative once again.
So you want more life you must do more. It's not found sitting on a couch or sleeping away the day although I will say sleep is important.
You educate yourself more and you see things differently. Your mental construct starts to expand. You can start to become more creative and think critically of a situation.
Nobody else will care about you or your career the way you will.
I want MY life to mean something to ME.
We have a CHOICE to do whatever we want with our time. I choose to live MY life how I live it. If you are happy and content then keep doing that which you may.
I have MY goals and want to accomplish them while I still have the time.
You only get one life so why not go for it.
