LEAVING FOOTPRINTS
Everywhere we travel in the world we leave a trace of us behind.
Even if it's microscopic or unobservable to our eyes we always leave something.
Dead skin cells. Fingerprints from our hands. Scraps from dinner or an empty bottle of water left in a friend's car.
Tangible stuff.
There are also thoughts and memories that stay behind when we leave a place or life.
For example, I walk into a store and have an interaction with the cash register clerk. After the transaction is complete I leave and my mind stores a microscopic imprint from that experience. The mind analyzes it, filters it, and a conclusion is made.
Positive or negative. Same goes for the clerk.
"Unbeknownst to me I could have just changed the course of their whole day... or their whole life."
Moving forward, the accumulation of all these thoughts adds weight to how we feel.
Those feelings and thoughts turn into actions.
There are so many variables out there. Just remember that you should try to remain the constant. We should try adding positivity to those around us by enriching their life. Yes, not everything can be positive. But we're here for our own betterment right. So let's start thinking about what thoughts are going through are head and how they effect us. Similar to motivation if you have a hard time staying motivated to reach your goals you should regularly push motivating thoughts in your mind. This will fuel the fire. Those thoughts will turn into the action and get you closer to achieving your dream.
If it wasn't for Greg Plitt I might never would have found the inspiration to keep taking extra steps to motivate myself in the fitness arena. That to me is almost like growing up and accepting more responsibility in life. I was directionless and spinning my wheels after reaching a fork in the road. Accepting mediocrity. (Finally at the point where I was just going through the motions in life.)
"Leaders makes more leaders and that's why I feel the need to pay it forward."
He set the ball rolling for countless people all over the world through his sacrifice. Now it's our turn to continue.
I keep wondering if there is an obligation to being American. I say yes there is a duty I must pay. Those are my personal convictions. Well, not all of us are American. We are all humans though. So maybe a noble duty as a human is to live a life serving others. Some will heed the call.
Some will not.
It's always been this way but for those on the journey of fitness let's make a personal choices to take the higher road. Spend more time with friends and family. You never know when it'll be the last time you see them or they will see you. Do it without seeking a reward.
Smile, be full of life, be an asset, be there to listen or help out and just doing that will leave an impact. Do this for your neighbors too. Those people will remember you for those little things and then not only will they feel good but you will too. Already on your way to a better life.
